For sale: 2005 American Champion High Country Explorer
Family owned (father-son) since new. Purchased from RARE Aircraft in 2006 (not to get off subject, but if you haven't seen their award winning work at Oshkosh, check out their website!).
The High Country Explorer is a variant of the Citabria developed by the great folks at American Champion Aircraft in Rochester, Wisconsin, where they continue to make these planes today. It came out of the factory with a 180 hp Superior Vantage engine, 76" Sensenich fixed pitch prop, VGs, Aileron Spades, tall Scout-style spring aluminum landing gear. It climbs like there is no tomorrow, is a joy to fly, about as easy of a tail-dragger as there is to master, and low on maintenance (fixed gear, fixed pitch, carbureted).
425 TTSN. Always hangared. Hangar is heated through the winter (requirement in our northern climate in North Dakota). Sharp airplane - exterior is Juneau White over Bahama Blue with Silver midlines.
