8mm Gyspy for Lewmar Windlass.

For Sale - www.ybw.com
Lewmar Gypsy for 8mm chain, Lewmar Windlass.

This was removed from our boat when we upgraded to 10mm chain. It's still in good nick with plenty of life left in it.

It was taken from a Lewmar Windlass dating from 2003 (RM1 50) but I think may fit newer Lewmar models as well (eg V1, V2, V30). We did have to slightly modifiy the old windlass housing to fit the new 10mm gypsy - the fixing screw on the new gypsy is not recessed, so it fouled the housing when fitted. However, on the 8mm gypsy the fixing screw is recessed, so it should fit newer windlasses, but please check to make sure. The part number for the current equivalent new part is 68000361 and I believe it retails at somewhere around £150 or maybe more now with all the recent price increases!

I have taken a couple of photos but haven't managed to work out how to attach them, the files being too large and my not knowing how to reduce the mps! However if you pm me with an email address, I can send them.

Not really sure what to ask - will probably put on ebay shortly for around £60 plus postage (is heavy, so postage £5.95 through myhermes). If anyone's interested, let me know asap.

Could be collect from St Albans, Herts or from Levington near Ipswich when we're at the boat (roughly alternate weekends).
