1998 RSV Mille 1000 Plus a BUNCH of Parts - Salt Lake City, Utah Area - $1,800
I'm letting this great bike with all the parts go for cheap because I've moved on and really need the space.
Several years ago I was rebuilding and customizing bikes and got this Mille 1000 simply because it's a really unique and cool bike. It ran great but needed paint and a few other minor things. A previous owner had done a crappy sanding and black paint job on most of the bike except for the front fairing. That still looks factory and pretty good. The engine ran great but the bike got an infamous electrical intermittent that seemed to affect the fuel pump. Sometimes it would start and run fine, sometimes not. So I parked the bike and prepared to do a full restoration and custom paint. Sadly, time moved on and the bike didn't and now it needs a new home.
The story is this bike was imported directly into the U.S. by its original owner who was in the military. Obviously the Mille 1000 wasn't imported and sold in the U.S. until 1999. To the best of my memory it has around 18k miles. The battery was removed when it was put in my shop but I can attach a battery and verify the miles if requested. It has a very nice Leo Vince exhaust and I was told it also had the matching fuel mapping flash when it was installed.
Beyond that it has a Zero Gravity windscreen, CRG levers, rear-sets, Brembo calipers and Pirelli Diablo tires. The extra parts include a set of later model side fairings and pristine R1000 side fairings, air intakes, extra stock front and rear foot-peg assemblies, carbon fiber dash cover and two stock dash covers, two cf front fenders and rear fenders, cf air deflectors, cf side fairing air intakes, tool kit, extra coolant tank, extra very nice swing arm and axle, extra set of mirrors from a newer model (an RSVR maybe), and whatever else you see in the pics. Also included is a FACTORY SERVICE MANUAL. There's also an extra instrument cluster that needs some TLC and maybe a few misc. parts here and there.
Bottom line is everything needs to go and go soon. WILL NOT PART OUT. Everything goes as one lot. It's also listed locally and will go to Ebay if necessary. But I'd really like to see an Aprilia enthusiast fix it and enjoy it.
I'm starting a big business project shortly and really don't have the time to do anything other than schedule a time to be here to help load everything up in someones trailer or truck. A link to the local ad is
