Grady White Seafarer 228 For sale/trade

Boats For Sale and Wanted - The Hull Truth - Boating and Fishing Forum - www.thehulltruth.com
Looking to move up to something in the 24-26 range with twins so I'm interested in selling or trading my GW 228.

The boat is a 1999 Grady White Seafarer 228 in excellent condition and she has been lightly used over the past four years during my ownership. I have added approximately 120 hours (motor does not have an hour meter) since it's been in my possession.

The motor is a same year 225 Ox66 Yamaha and runs very well. I do not hesitate to take this offshore on the right weather days. Recent maintenance includes lower unit oil, water pump, and all fuel filters. I had an issue last spring with an overheat at idle so the poppet valve and thermostats were changed out. Bottom paint was just refinished last month and the boat is ready to go in the water or stay on the trailer. Besides filling up the tank (100 gallons I believe) I have never kept track of fuel consumption. Fuel gets the proper dose of Ring Free at each top off. Typical cruise for me is at 4k RPMs and I'm doing right at 30mph.

The trailer, which is included in the sale, is a dual axel EZ Loader and is also in great condition. I've redone all the lights on the trailer and the hubs and bearings were done three years ago (less than 3,000 miles). I would not hesitate to take the boat, via trailer or water, anywhere. I make a 200 mile trip to Virginia multiple times a year and have never had a problem towing.

Electronics include a Humminbird 998 GPS/Fishfinder combo with side imaging. VHF, and an AM/FM radio. The boat has a full curtain set as well as all of the factory seat cushions (I hardly ever use the cushions and will admint that some are ready to be replaced). I fish for striped bass in the early spring and the curtains are a godsend.

As you can see by the pictures she is in great condition and I've tried to keep her looking her best. It's not a brand new boat so there are nicks here and there. The fish box cover on the starboard side appears to have been hit with a led sinker a few times. Doesn't look great but has not affected the latch at all.

The only reason for selling is so that I can move up to a bigger boat. Please note that some pictures were taken shortly after removing the winter cover and before bottom paint and spring clean up, others were from this past summer/fall, one from a few years back.

I did just get confirmation from the detailer that she's buffed, waxed, and ready to hit the water. The Grady White stickers/pin stripe were removed two years ago and I decided not to replace them as I like this look better. The picture of the boat on the trailer w/ the stripes still on is approximately 3 years old.

If you have any questions or comments please don't hesitate. As mentioned, if you are looking to move down a foot or three show me what you've got. Looking to stay under $10k cash on my end so no need to send me those 28ft Parkers (unless you're feeling generous)

I'm asking for $22,500 and the boat is located in Southern Delaware.
